Hi From Twsbi

Have you thought about how the nibs are to be tested before selling the pens? Just because I bought a new pen this weekend and it didn't write properly - this is really annoying if you're excited about getting a new pen to play with!

We use the nib/feeder system direct from Schmidt, from all the nibs we got so far (during testing pen....) we found they are very consistency in quality. We know the Schmidt very well and their German quality from well established company, that's why from the beginning of this project we insist to use Schmidt nib (well, actually you know when nib from...), even he is much more expensive than others.  Accordingly we believe the chance of getting defect nib is very low. We will do final eye checking on the nib to make sure two tips are in correct position...

300 may not be enough to satisfy the demand just from this thread :roflmho:

Scott

I have no doubt that the first 300 will be gone fast.

I may have to wait a year or two... but I will get one of these pens!

If posting order on this thread constitute priority on buying, I should be in a good position...

Speedy, you're doing really a great job (no, two jobs, as I keeping a watch on the vacuum filler too).

I will be happy to ship to europe as well. I think speedy has a friend in Europe doing distribution there (which would mean cheaper shipping for you guys), but if there is no problem with regional fiefdoms, I'll ship to Canada/Europe. I need to check, but I think shipping will be similar to the cost for US shipping.

Any chance on getting one in time to show it off at the Chicago Pen Show?

Pam

There are some pre-production models floating around (I have one), but the Chicago pen show is pretty soon. I don't think it would be very likely.

I would follow you on twitter... but I don't tweet.

Yes, I got on the pre-sale list in the other thread. Looks fine. However, in all my excitement, I totally missed the part about the timeline. It was there, I just didn't see it at first.

Woo Hoo! We are one step closer!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
