I have no affiliation to eckiethump except he did a repair job on a Sheaffer PFM V of mine. The man's a genius.

And how can this be, because he is the Kwisatz Haderach.

Another commendation for a great workman.

Eric re-sealed the blind end of a japanese eyedropper with safety valve for me - a tricky job - he did a great job, with a fast turn around and a very good price.

I will be sending more pens to him in the future...

I just got back three vintage pens from Eric yesterday, and I am absolutely delighted with the repair and restoration he's done. While the aesthetic part of the work is impeccable, the most impressive part for me is the massive improvement in writing characteristics, particularly in terms of flow, which was a problem but now is perfect.

No affiliation, just another very satisfied customer!

I now have the appropriate tooling for ding removal on parker 51 and 61 caps. I have carried out the work on a fairly large number of caps to date, supplied by dealer friends, to ensure the work would be up to a standard they and I would be happy with.

Results are very good, particularly with gold filled caps, unless ding is caused by a very sharp object and gf penetrated, in these cases a flea bite/pin (soapy mouth) is left. On lustraloy, to date, I haven't managed to restore that surface (Nitirc acid may be the answer, but not easy to get hold of ?).

Price for this service is $12/£8 per cap, reducing to $8/£6 + shipping, if the cap is sent minus it's clip. Caps run over by a bus, will be priced accordingly on inspection thumbup.gif. Multiple caps sent will also be subject to a generous discount.

I sent eckiethump a lever filler that had a stiff rusty lever & J-bar and he cleaned the rust off the lever & J-bar, removed an ossified piece of sac which was causing the stiffness, replaced the sac already in there because it turned out to be too small and then cleaned and lightly polished the pen and sent it back. The lever now works perfectly well. Fast turnaround time and for a vary fair price I thought. Recommended.

One more resounding reccommendation. Eric restored to excellent working order three of my grandad's Sheaffers from the 40s, has fixed a Mentmore and a couple of Parkers for me. Excellent workmanship, quick turnaround and honest on what can and can't be achieved. What more could one hope for. A pleasure to deal with!!! ( No affiliation other than a very satisfied customer etc...). Cheers, Rajesh

Eric, would you consider a glass-nibbed lever filler a challenge? I have a new nib for it, but no idea how to join the dots as it were.

This type of pen and nib wouldn't pose any problems, other than the care in handling when installing the new nib, and fitting to the section.

I've just received my most recent couple of pens restored by Eric, and once again he's done a wonderful job to get my somewhat forlorn Swans functional again. Great work, great price, fast service. Thanks again, Eric!

Hi Christian,

On nib work it's best to send to John Sorowka (Oxonian). I do work on nibs (tine alignment, tuning, smoothing, ) as part of a repair, but reccomend John's expertise on nibs. Give John your requirements and if possible on the nib supplied, he'll return it to your almost guaranteed satisfaction.

would you be able to replace a broken clip on my "51" aero UK (from a lustraloy cap)? it does need some additional smoothing and flow adjustment but nothing spectecular. i'd like to send it over right away - they sooner it's out of the house the better i'd feel ;.

Hi Eric,

I have a Vacumatic that I have talked about in this thread: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/150204-parker-vac/

I should note that the cracks in the cap are vertical caps that were probably made from wear and tear due to posting. They do not yet reach the first band on the cap but as this is my only good fountain pen they may do soon if I keep using it!

How long would turn-aroun be do you think?

If in the UK my normal turn around is 7 days, 10 days maximum, providing no operations require curing times, such as infill engravings, or parts I don't stock. Having read your thread, I could have the pen back to you within the week, fully serviced and cracks repaired, they sound like hairlines. I'd have to see the pen to ratify rates for cap lip repair, but shouldn't be any more than +£3-£4, to the cost of a full service.

Eric
