Monkey, what monkey?...that was me after the makeover...guess it didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped..... ;)

Oh, sorry... "monkey" is just a new slang term! It translates as "a very estimable literary Brahmin, and fashion model". Probably started as an acronym of some sort...

(Funny thing is, when you started using it, it took me a while to realize that it wasn't a morphed image.)

No worries....so, do you think I should get another makeover to go back to my ol' self??

Have you tried holding down the shift key while you click the refresh button? Always works for me. By the way, I also see the Dutch Master ;)

Bingo! That did it, dizzypen!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!

Now, why didn't I think of that........

and what Dutch Master, that's the result of my new makeover.... ;)

I tried to change my signature last night to add new pens I bought at the Columbus show, and the screen indicated I could have as many lines as I wanted, but when I deleted one and then added one of the new pens, and clicked "save changes," it said my signature was now too long and wouldn't let me change it.

Also, when I typed in the new pen in the same way I'd done the older ones, the http (?) language didn't look the same, so I don't know if it would've added anyway.

So, is this no longer the current list (copied from your signature as I see it), or did it update and say it didn't, as it's been doing for Archimark?

Now I'm curious — can someone tell me what exactly happens when you do this? I've never heard of it before, but am very glad Archimark's problem is solved.

Shift-Refresh forces (most) browsers to reload the complete page from the server, instead of rendering from cached files -- which should have happened when the browser cache was cleared, but sometimes doesn't (and is much easier to do than clearing the cache).

Thanks, Zeissikon. Cool little bit of information to store in my memory tank.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
