The software upgrade is complete. The "look" everyone is familiar with was incompatible with the new software. We are working to translate it to the new software. Until then, please be patient.

Ditto that.

With a little poking around it's beginning to feel quite natural and it looks fine to my eye.

Yeah, at first I was just surprised at the difference and I didn't like it, but now I'm getting used to it.

Sorry, I don't like the look. It's busy-er, and white on black is eyestrain-y.

What happened to the private messages and About Me pages and all the rest of that?

More seriously, the new system appears to be having problems with the old-style quotations.

All my private messages are gone, deleted. And no warning either. Didn't anyone back stuff up before the change was made? There was some important stuff in there and now there is no way to retrieve it. This could cost me money. Who do I talk to about that? Thanks for the warning. My avatar isn't working either.

Well, at least the avatar is working.

Really like the new look, wish all my saved messages hadn't been lost though.

Edit: apparently PMs will return - nice to know.

Well, it is going to take a little time to grow on me (and I've noted that there are a few things to 'come back') but I find the new look easier on the eyes/more readable.

Thanks to everyone involved. You even did it while I was asleep!

Hey, I've worked out how to set up an avatar! Next week I'll move onto tying my own shoelaces...

I like the new look. But major OUCH on the lost pm's. What does it mean the "saved" pm's will come back? You mean like the one's in my "in and sent" folders, or...?

Not to detract from the work done on the sight, though. It looks GREAT, IMHO.
Blessings,
Dave

I think all - the Admin posted in one of the many other threads (at this rate they'll outweigh the Lamy subforum threads) - have a rummage around chatter and community feedback - it's in there somewhere.

That's cool... thanks. I haven't had time to browse yet, just got back into town. :)

Well, this is quite surprising! But I rather like the new look. It's all spiffy and new. *inhales new design smell*

... er... where has the "mark forums read" button gone?

I'm also liking the new look. Feature wise, my favorite add-on is the ability to adjust the number of posts per page. (Or was that always an option, and I just didn't know it?) Overall, I find the site easier to navigate now. Good work!

At the rate these threads are appearing you'd be better to go again and come back in a few days when the dust settles or settle in for a very long session on FPN.

Welcome back - hope you had a good trip.

Where are you seeing white on black? Just curious. Everything for me is white, blue and green. (Except the text, which is black).

You can get to "About Me" by activating the drop-down menu at the top right and clicking "My Profile."

eilu,

There is a link at the very bottom of the main forums page which says Mark Board As Read.
