ROLEX EXPLORER II

Recommended Posts

I am putting my Rolex Explorer II up for sale. Last night my best friend (pictured on the left) had some seizures and spent the night at the vet ER. Today we're scrambling to get an emergency MRI done. To fund the MRI and other diagnostics, I am putting my watch up for sale.

Bought in March of '01 from Eiseman Jewelers (a pretty high end jeweler here in Dallas) the watch has been very well cared for. It is in excellent shape and keeps great time. Full disclosure: I have not worn the watch for over 2 years as it is due for the standard Rolex service and I never got around to driving downtown to the Rolex Service Center here in Dallas.

As you can see in the pics, it has been well cared for and comes with the box and papers. New the watch goes for about $5900, I am asking for $2800 shipped insured CONUS.

Good luck with the MRI Peter, hope all goes well.

Great watch, but unfortunately out of my range at the moment.

I'm sure you will find the right buyer for it.

I believe this watch to be a 7.5 - 8. It is not new, nor is it mint. It was a daily wearer for a little over six years and it carries it's age well....with the requisite blemishes. There are NO scratches or dings that one can feel with a fingernaiil What's there most likely can be buffed out. It was worn in a white collar environment. I never played golf with the watch on or wet swimming with it. It was very well cared for.

$2500 + shipping perhaps

It's considered very bad manners to talk the price down publicly.

If you want to make an offer send a personal message to the vendor.

Great watch. Don't have the money right now. Good luck. I hope everything goes well for you.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts, bumps, and help! We did lose Poppy and that void will never be filled.

The watch is on hold pending payment.

Thanks!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
