Tuesday Morning Sale May Include Fountain Pens

I talked to a sales person at Tuesday Morning and he said the sale that begins on Sept 1 will include pens. Not totally sure this is reliable information but I have purchased some great pens at Tuesday Morning sales. Just wanted to let folks know about this possibility.

Tuesday Morning is an outlet seller of close outs, overages, etc. Periodically they have great bargains, but they sell out quickly and which store gets which stock is one of the mysteries of the universe.

6 years ago I got a load of Shaeffers for great money. This past year they had Waterman, but only BPs and rollerballs at the local shop. Occasionally Parkers surface.

Sweet. I have 2 on the way home from school. :D I'll definitely be checking these out. ^^ Thanks for the heads up.

At the nearest Tuesday Morning store to me, I learned that "Bill Blass" fountain pens will become available Saturday, BUT already in stock were two Waterman pens, a Phileas F nib for $20 and a Hemisphere M nib for $40. The F nib Phileas came home with me. Thanks to Pennut for the heads up.

:( Where do they keep these pens? I checked one of the shops today since I had a 6hr gap between my classes (yeah, I'm that crazy) but I couldnt find any pens.

I visited 2 stores in my area today and they both kept their pens near the cash register. One store had them locked in a display case (nothing but Parker 100 rb's). The other store had them just lying on a shelf. This particular store had Parker 100 rb's & fp's, plus Phileas fp's. I was told pens were not part of their sale, but purchased a Parker 100 w/ XF nib for $99. Not a bad pen, but definitely not XF, writes more like a Western Fine.

I never have figured out how they determine which store gets what merchandise. We have 3 within driving range here and it's always an adventure.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
