Well, the "LE" rollerball just sold for $270.

Poets Edition rollerball with Montblanc booklet

The same pen (a Bookworm Yellow-Gold Filigree) sells for $10 at isellpens.com

Unbelievable.

Oh, good grief!!!

edit: I reported it on eBay.

It makes me sick to see such unscrupulous sellers in the Internet. This are hard earn monies and I can't imagine people trying all underhand methods to cheat them out from the pockets of the innocent people. On the other hand, if one is not greedy, one is unlikely to fall into these traps. :bonk:

Other pens available for sale:

Pelikan : Keep a watchout here, M805 FPs, M400 and M405 FPs,

mascarvin!

I just wanted to add the seller's ebay ID in case anyone googled him. Maybe they'll read this thread and be spared getting ripped off.

I just reported two similar auctions by the same seller. Pen maker name is visible, but unreadable on wider photos, but is photoshopped in photo of the cap, where it could have been easily read.

I think e-bay wouldn't have a drop in number of auction listings if they would police this sort of thing themselves.

When I had the time I would create an ebay id such as I hate panerai fakes or another montblanc fake

and "kill" their auctions :roflmho:

Can you contact bidders and tell them? I am VERY new to ebay--three purchases only but feel that these people should not be scammed

Steve, unfortunately ebay prevents to know who the bidders are. This is to avoid a different kind of scam, like you contact a bidder of a certain item claiming that you can sell it at a lower price but outside ebay... thus losing all the "safety mechanism" of the site.

Cheers,

What you say is correct. However if you go through this seller's feedback, it has the i/ds of all the winning bidders - and they can be contacted.

True. But by then they must know they were robbed.

No?

Yes, but they can then make a claim through Paypal to get their money back and also report the seller to Ebay for selling c/feits.

I have advised several buyers that the pens they have purchased are fakes - and they generally are pretty grateful.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
