Abraxas Sealing Wax on Castle in the Air's Website

Hi all,

Just wanted to let those of us who love to use sealing wax know that Castle in the Air has added their collection of Abraxas sealing wax onto their website. Just like their ink, the Abraxas wax comes in a number of interesting shades and colors. Clint added them onto the site after I asked him if he stocked them, so I must say the customer service is great! I can't tell you for sure if they are survivable in the mail (putting them on the outermost envelope), and Abraxas's website makes no note that they are, but I imagine they would do fine on the letter itself, and would be fantastic for invitations and such. They are $15 for a 8" stick, and looking at my ruler this very moment, that is a really long length!! haha, I was going to say they may seem a little more expensive than others, but ya know the length is pretty great for the price! Hope this helps with anyone's search for interesting waxes!

This is indeed a traditional wax that is brittle, so going through the mail on the outside of the envelope may not survive as well as A gargoyle and J Herbin's Supple wax. I will be testing the Amber wax I ordered when I get it. As always, the key will be to make a thin seal. I have my eye on a few others in the up coming months as well!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
