I want to sell two fountain pens. I rarely using these because I do not want to broad nibs. (One is medium and the other is OB)

1. Waterman Charleston with 18k Medium Nib, ivory color with GP clip. I purchased it 7 month ago, gently use. Since I do not using it well I want to sell it $95 including CONUS shipping.

2. Pelikan M200 with GP steel OB Nib, black color with GP clip. I purchased it 1 year ago, also I only using two times and washed it. It has original box with it.

When I buy it, the original Nib was B, but I bought a OB nib and replaced. I want to sell it $60 including CONUS shipping.

M200 is withdrawn from sale. Sorry.

I decide to keep this pen.

My wife does not allow me to sell, because it was a gift from her.

Understood.

I was going to ask if you'd consider a trade, not enough $$ to purchase anything else right now, my wife likes Broad nibs and especially likes the Obliques.

I was going to try and get it for her, as I don't much care from Broad nibs but an OB or even a OM Pelikan nib I'd been wanting to try at least once myself.

P.S.,

Sell it to Ted, if you need the $$ and your wife changes her mind.

Sounds like he wants it more than my wife would, so give it to someone that's really drooling over it.

My wife sounds the same as yours, in that I have things she'd given me as gifts, such as one item being a beautiful Pro Divers watch with a Swiss Auto movement & gorgeous Mother Of Pearl dial she'd given me as a birthday present.

Despite our current financial crisis, trying to live far below the current U.S. poverty level and facing possible eviction, she'd still get very upset if I'd ever sold anything she'd give me as a gift, especially that watch!

“I view my fountain pens & inks as an artist might view their brushes and paints.

They flow across paper as a brush to canvas, transforming my thoughts into words and my words into art.

There is nothing else like it; the art of writing and the painting of words!”

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
