Soon be time for the show, is there a roll call as to who is going, any news or views?

I'll be there - just starting the ball rolling as I'll be offline for a few days starting tomorrow.

I will most definitely be there! I'm also taking my 12 year old niece with me - her first pen show. She's very excited!

So am I (even though it means I'll have to behave myself this time.....)

I'm coming down on the coach from MKeynes Sunday am....hopefully it will take rather less than TWO HOURS from Victoria to Kensington this year :o

I took a bit more than two hours Roger, from Victoria, but I did walk it !!

Doing same as last year, down on Saturday night and back to Edinburgh on the Sunday night.

Back from a holiday in Majorca, with my soon to be eighteen year old daughter a couple of days before, so I may be somewhat fraggled, loathe to miss it though. Look forward to seeing a lot of people, oh and some pens and stuff???huh.gif rolleyes.gif

I hope to be there, but for the morning only - have to be in South London in the early afternoon.

What are the plans for the Saturday evening - and am I allowed to come after getting the blame for Ian being the worse for wear at the Midland Show????

I am surprised it took you so long, Eric... I'd have guessed it wasn't more than about a coupla miles :)

I waited ages for buses which then took me in the wrong direction, and finally took a taxi which abandoned me to walk the last bit due to the traffic jams :( It'll be the toob this time...if they aren't on strike!!

I've got one of my work colleagues popping in to walk the dogs, so I'll be heading up to London on the Sunday morning :) See you all there. I've acquired another pen that needs a little nib work. Think I might have got a bargain today - Parker 65 Flighter for a fiver :)

Sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to meeting up with you again especially as I didn't contact you for our proposed get together.

I will be coming along to Kensington with Sarah, my daughter, again and this time accompanied by my wife.

Looking forward to meeting up with you all.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
