I recently decided I wanted a nice reddish ink, what with it being Xmas and all, so I have just received

Diamine Crimson

Diamine Monaco Red

Diamine Burnt Sienna.

Only issue is that since I like having Safari in my MB WE Defoe and MB Lavender in my Cross Townsend I think a need a new pen. Currently have my eye on a NOS Shaeffer Targa Classic Garnet Ronce to hold red either that or go mad on a 1988 MB 146. Decisions decisions

As of yesterday, I've got an order into JetPens which includes a bottle of Waterman Inspired Blue. I've got a number of inks that have lovely sheen (eg: the legendary-for-a-reason Yama Dori), but they usually don't shade that well. It looks like Inspired Blue will be a bit like the Lamy Turquoise I've got in cartridges: nice shading and the occasional subtle halo of metallic pink sheen where the ink is heavy. Which, as I've discovered, I'm a complete sucker for.

And, for my first ink in about five years, a bottle of Waterman Serenity Blue! Exciting, no? ;)

Easing my pens out of small children induced semi-retirement and this in a 51 seems the safest way to go.

I have dreamt of the day where I am holding a Waterman Carene. Sigh... seems too distant I can only see the fog far away.

I am waiting for 13 L'Artisan Pastelier Callifolio inks from Vanness. They might arrive tomorrow. I am excited. I already own 4 Callifolio inks and love them, so I am hoping that I will love these new ones as well. You can't beat getting a pouch of 50+ml of ink for $8.00 for each color. For me, I love the pouches because they are lightweight and don't take up too much room. I use a blunt-end syringe to fill my converters (and, yes, I am very careful to not punch a hole in the pouch!). The ink has good flow and lubrication but is only moderately saturated (which I like very much).

Sailor sankodo ozone blue. :)

Unless he has some more inks that interest me, I'm just getting a bottle of ozone blue.

Other than that, I got rid of every ink in the last post except rouge hematite.

How are you "getting rid of them" - I'm happy to be your inky beneficiary. :)

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

:P

I sold them locally. :)

All bottles are far smaller than what they appear like in picture (I'm looking at you, 1670 and Standard Herbin).

I think i'll stick to what i really like, Sailor. They never disappoint and i managed to free up almost 300 Euros by selling those inks.

Luckily, Atsu mailed me today morning for some sailor inks i had asked for when i bought the Cigar. So some of that money has been put to better use.

Standard herbin bottles suck. Too shallow to fill anything.

1670 Herbin bottles have a very small opening for most of my pens.

Diamine bottles are also smaller than how they appear in pictures, so 3 bottles of Diamine have also been sold. Honestly, 80ml of ink in that bottle?! :o

I had ordered 9 bottles of R&K but sold 7 of them. No problems with them, but i had buyers ready to purchase, so those were sold as well.

I can send you a few Bril inks if you like.

I've just ordered a bottle of Noodler's Van Gogh Starry Night from some outfit called 'Fountain Pen Network.' Waiting impatiently.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
