An 80ml bottle each of Diamine Iridescink Christine and Philip, which I've just been notified has been "shipped". Not bad for an order placed several hours ago, when it was before sunrise where the retailer is located.

KWZ Baltic Memories, Warsaw Dreaming, and Walk over Vistula. Most excited about Warsaw Dreaming, actually, but I wanna see some black sheen!

I'm so enjoying Cult Pens Robert and Maureen inks that I ordered the Christine and Philip as well. Because I needed to qualify for free shipping, I added the entire Cult Pens Line up (six Deep and Dark inks) and a small bottle of WES Imperial Blue as I haven't seen it for sale in the states. They ranged from 2.19 to about $9 a bottle, which is pretty decent plus there's no tax and free shipping. So much for my ink embargo. The order just shipped today!

Diamine (Cult Pens Exclusive) Iridescink Christine and Philip arrived today.

Now waiting for Diamine Earl Grey and Scribble Purple, and J.Herbin Cornaline d'Égypte (the 224th, 225th and 226th inks in my collection, not counting what has been given away and gotten rid of). Time to declutter and pare down?

  • 2 weeks later...

Kind of went on a buying frenzy tonight:

> Lamy Vibrant Pink bottle (because it was on sale for $7)

> GvFC carts - Moss Green, Deep Sea Green (for the Turquoise Sport demonstrator I ordered) and Burned Orange

> samples of Stipula Sweet Pink and Purple

> samples of Iro Tsutsuji (giving it another try) and Kon-peki (finally trying it out)

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

J.Herbin Gris Nuage and Rose Cyclamen will probably arrive later this week. I wasn't planning on buying those colours, but they were on clearance (Is that what Americans term "close-out" instead?) special, and I was looking for something to pad my order so that the total would qualify for free international shipping.

J.Herbin Coraline d'Égypte, Diamine Earl Grey and Scribble Purple, KWZI Sheen Machine, and Platinum Blue-Black are on order but haven't been dispatched yet.

Waiting for Noodler's whaleman's sepia, it's been in customs for a few days now so I'm expecting it to be within my grasp some time next week. I'm very curious about it and can't wait to test it. Meanwhile I can play around with the 4 Organics Studio inks that arrived yesterday: Boron Brown, Manganese Blue-Black, Arsenic Gray and M. Twain Halley's Comet Blue.

I recently ordered some blue inks from Diamine: Prussian blue, Mediterranean blue, Kensington blue, Sapphire, Sargasso Sea blue...

There are many more nice blue inks I have on my wish list.

MB Royal Blue
Aurora Black

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
