Looks like a total of 24 bottles of ink, including three of Rohrer & Klingner (2018 LE) Aubergine, are now on their way to me from the Netherlands! Yay!

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Waiting on 3 bottles of hero blue, 2 of dark blue and one of coffee.

After that I'm taking a break from ink. I have run out of space on 21 total shelves.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

I just added another four bottles of ink, to an order for a pen (with Fountain Pen Day discounts and all) so as to qualify for free international shipping, and so now my on-order-yet-to-arrive list of new-to-me ink colours is:

Well YOU'RE going to be busy, aren't you? ;)

There are inks I want to try samples of/buy full bottles of; but I'm trying to be good and wait until after the first of the year. AND also *first* go through some more of the samples I haven't yet tried -- some of which (particularly some samples of black inks) have been kicking around for something like five years at this point....

Right now my writing hand is sorta out of commission from a bad case of tendonitis in the wrist, to the point of having to strap it with tape so I cannot move my thumb (much). :( I certainly hope it gets better by the time the inks arrive!

Ouch! My sympathies.

I've had tendonitis in my thumb, and have had to wear a brace at times. Naturally it would be on my dominant hand. Not only does it make writing a major PITA, but also knitting (which probably caused it). Even using a fork is problematic. :(

Alt Goldgrun. I ordered it with a couple of paper items from the US and it was shipped on 17 November. It arrived in Melbourne, Australia on 19 Nov and released for delivery to me the same day. I live in a small town about 90mins out of Melbourne and as of yesterday the parcel is now somewhere back in the US on its way to the destination. Really?

I'm waiting on Pilot Iro Kosumosu, and a sample of J Herbin Cornaline d'Egypte.

I'm now down to needing five colors to complete my Pilot Iro collection, at least of the regular inks.

And wouldn't you know it that now they have 7 new LE inks just when I was getting to the end of the collection and would have to scour the internet for the old LE colors.

Sigh.

Delfts Blauw is a wonderful choice. I hope he enjoys it.

I've got a bottle of Sailor Kiwa-Guro in that new block design I like, though I didn't order the bottle just for that. I needed the ink lol.

Iroshizuku Shin-Kai on the way as well.

I've been loving Japanese inks lately.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
