Exceptional customer service from JetPens

Hey folks,

I'll do the little "no affiliation" spiel first - I don't have any ties to JetPens other than being a very happy customer. (And I should disclose that in a giveaway here on an FPN forum, I won a Lamy Al-Star from them. So I'm an extra-happy customer.)

I order from them a lot - I love their free shipping over $25, and I give away a lot of disposable fountain pens (Platinum Preppies, Pilot Varsities, Pilot V-Pens) to whoever will have them. So JetPens is my source.

One of my packages just disappeared somewhere in the mail. The U.S. Postal Service delivery confirmation said it was delivered... but I never got it. I emailed JetPens just to ask them to send it along to me if it ever came back to them, and I'd pay shipping if need be. (And from now on, I'll get signature confirmation.) They emailed back to say they were sending me a duplicate of the same order, with signature confirmation, and if the original package ever gets to ME, I should send it back to them.

I am willing to accept the fact that things get lost in the mail every now and again, no matter how upset that truth may make me... but in no way was this JetPens' fault. My order total was close to $50 and I thought this was a really stellar thing for them to do. I've since received the replacement package, which, thanks to signature confirmation, reached me safely and swiftly.

Of course it's a good business practice, because it makes me an even happier customer, and it makes me kvell about it to other folks, like this. But I still thought it was a darn fine thing to do.

Just wanted to share.

I love JetPens. I remain astounded at how quickly my orders come, and the free shipping over $25 really makes a difference when getting inks.

I once made a mistake on my order and emailed them asking whether or not they could change it and they answered yes. I got the package in two days dispite the fact that my changing the order must have slowed them down. There shipping has always been great and when I email them with questions, they always respond super fast.

I love Jetpens. (No affiliation, blah blah blah)

+3 for JetPens. The $25 to free shipping makes a big difference every time (especially for inks!), and I was ecstatic to see that I could get refills for my beloved Japanese pens after resigning myself to their slow deaths once I came back stateside.

And they carry the Iroshizuku line... one of which recently made a fantastic birthday present for my wife.

No affiliation aside from being a constantly satisfied customer.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
