My writing is almost un readable, my spelling is rudimentary at best, and i live in Albury, therefore almost nothing exciting happens to me, but Id love to be part of it all.

As is the case with my pen collection, I've always got room for just one more =)

Just a heads up that this little project is under way. Yuki now has possession of our journal and is hopefully writing a more interesting entry than mine :D

I haven't actually written anything yet. I was saving the fun for one of my lengthier lunchbreaks. I might write up the list of participants, an introduction and a few haiku before I pass it along.

I realised that as more people express interest, a hardcopy list of participants would become redundant so I'll be sending an email/PM around with a list shortly and will update as necessary. As for the order of participation, I know some of our participants are within close proximity of each other and may wish to pass the journal along over coffee rather than post it so I'm going to leave the order open. Feiye's already started a name/contact details thing at the back of the journal so do add your details when it's your turn so that later recipients know who has already had a turn. Hopefully this all goes smoothly =)

Quick update: I've started scribbling some random things in the journal in what may resemble dried blood, but rest assured, it is actually ink. I'll fill a couple more pages with a few different pens and then pass the journal on to Claustrum when the Sydney FPN-ers meet up on Sunday. And regarding 'the list', I'm told that the PM system is a bit dodgy for some people and I can't find anyway to mass email people via FPN so what I'm going to do is post a list in this thread and repost with an updated list everytime we get a new recipient/participant. So far on the list (in order of expressing interest) we have:

1. Yuki Onitsura (currently in possession)

2. Claustrum

3. Feiye (had half a turn in so far as taking first page honours)

4. Youstruckgold

5. Chazzozz

6. Chris Chalmers

7. Miranda

8. jimg

9. mumsdarlings

10. fuchsiaprincess

11. hexadecimal

12. DAYoung

Yep, looking forward to it as well. I'll have to see how many different inks I can use in a short space of time. :)

I write, therefore I...write a little more.

I'm trying to put in as many inks as I can and since I really can't be stuffed filling and flushing out a dozen fountain pens, I'll probably fiddle with my dip pen a bit tomorrow.

Gee, that'll be a well-travelled journal by the time it's done! If you want, I'd be happy to have it back again to scan it and make it available to everyone, so we can all have a copy of the finished product.

Oh yes, that would be wonderful. I was going to do the scanning myself but you've saved me the trouble of figuring out where I buried the software required to do so =)

Hi all

Just to keep you all informed, I have written a page in the book. I'll add some more this weekend with a few different pens.

Now back to my coffee, a single origin "Democratic of the Congo, Matadi" roasted by myself just last weekend. Yummmm.... :-)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
