Ill try to be there at 2pm. I wish it were earlier, because Ill be there tomorrow and Friday as well.

Perhaps we should wear badges that ID us as our FPN usernames.

We arrived on Sunday night and have been enjoying DC and some of the awesome buildings and history.

We will have our table set up somewhere on all four days - so please do stop by and say hello.

If you announce yourself as a FPNer, this can only help in securing a good price on my offerings. ;)

To help you recognise me and my wife Jas, this is a relatively recent photo taken at last year's Paris Pen Show:

I keep seeing that Friday is the "preshow" and was told at the Philly show that was a great day to go. I think you have to buy the weekend pass ($45 covers you and spouse if I'm reading a form right?) to do that, though? Is that something you can do at the door? I'll be down early and would love to take advantage of Friday instead of all the mass on Saturday.

Does anyone know? I suppose it's a bit late to be asking since I'm leaving tomorrow, but...

Yes, you can arrange that when you get there.

As for the pistachio, you sure picked a good word there. Unfortunately I have eaten all the pistachios here on the east coast.

Is it ok if I say CORNED BEEF? (that was for Lisa!!! )

I plan to be there and I'm sure will experience FP overdose!!

:yikes:

...and I'll stop by the ink table at 2pm too... I'll have a fountain pen in my pocket, that's how you can recognize me.

We'll bethere starting early tomorrow morning.

We probably can't make it to the ink table at 2PM.

(rats!)

Please stop by our table and take a look at what some have called "The Best Value in New Pens".

If you identify yourself as an FPN member we'll give you a FREE fountain pen!

Oxonian will be available to customize any nibs you may have the good fortune of purchaing at the show.

Or

If you have a nib and want him to fix er up he'll do it right in front of you.

He is a well known in The UK and a much sought after nib technician.

Ok Steve, I have two questions:

1 - What do we have to do to identify ourselves as FPN members? Is there a secret word like: (can't tell you here, it's a secret)

AND the REALLY important question:

2 - what's the secret word?

you can write it here, no one will look, I promise...

In so much that I have not had the opportunity to rig up the duck that drops down when the 'secret' word is mentioned....

How about folks just introduce themselves and mention they are FPN members.

Hell, I'll probably forget the secret word anyway. :))

So am I going to look like an idiot if I show up with my FPN screen name tagged to my shirt, or will there really be a secret password? Can you all imagine me walking around with a "blopplop" tag on? :ltcapd:

It's a darned good thing you did not rig up that duck because he's not there....I ate him! That is one of my very favorite dishes in my favorite Chinese restaurant back home. They serve it crispy hot with either white or brown rice. It is so absolutely delicious you can faint........ :puddle:

Yes if we'd only known we might been seen in public with them, we might have been more circumspect in choosing our screen names.

so many pens, so little time.......

Yes indeed. It's a long story about why this is my screen name. :)

I look forward to seeing many people there! I'm bringing my 12-year old niece from Venezuela, who just got her first fountain pen (pink of course!) when she came to visit...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
