I have a bottle -- the color is nothing like legal Lapis.

Sensitive Pen Restoration doesn't cost extra.

I actually bought it from Niche/Pelikan Pens but I've noticed that they are now showing 'out of stock'. I'm glad I bought some when I did. I don't know about the LL similarity though. I'll put a scan of P o t C on here before Christmas if possible.

Sniff! Well, I'll keep an eye on their site.

Thanks! Now I clearly need both. :)

Interesting colour! I may have to add this on my 'to try' list next time I look at ink swabs or order from Goulet

Many thanks for the review and congratulations on your son's graduation. The professional gear is a lovely, lightweight pen and I do hope he enjoys the gift.

Alas, this color is not presently available at Goulet. I would love to see it there, though, since it doesn't look like Noodler's is exporting to the UK anymore so UK retailers may not be able to restock it.

I'm not sure about Noodler's not exporting to the UK anymore - if someone has confirmation of this I would like to know. I believe Niche Pens Ltd have had a delivery of Noodler's inks since last Spring. Unfortunately they do not have any Prime of the Commons at the moment.

I have two bottles of this ink (I think it might have been the last two from Niche Pens Ltd. ) and have tried it in a few pens. Its behaviour is very pen specific, it can vary from that of a good wet writer to a gusher. Personally I love the colour, its fast drying time and its smoothness. It works fine in my MB 149, my Pelikans (Ductus and Souverän) but is far too wet in my Parkers (51...) and TWSBI. There is some nib creep but hardly anything that worries me (believe me, I am difficult when it comes to ink...). You need good paper for it to really shine, or poor paper and a fine dry writer, but there is no fun in that direction - no matter what the ink ;)

Seasons Greetings to all fountain pen aficionados - I hope Santa treats you well.

The pen I've had inked with P o t C has almost run out so I've added a couple of lines in the only blues I've got 'loaded' at the moment, to a few comparison lines of some Diamine inks.

The paper is Rhodia 80gsm and I hope it makes sense. For colour comparisons, the pen and nib combinations are really irrelevant at this stage.

This is the scan.

Wishing EVERYONE a very Merry Christmas as well.

I don't have anything resembling confirmation. I'm just going by this page at The Writing Desk, which could be out of date.

Yes, I have seen this.

However, there have been words to this effect on their website for some time. Unless I am mistaken (and correct me if I am) Niche Pens have had a delivery of Noodler's inks whilst TWD was still unsure about being able to obtain further supplies of Noodler's inks. This is what makes me unsure. Of course Niche Pens may have only received goods ordered before any change in distribution policy by Noodler's.

It is confusing.... anyone with more information?

Great review <img src="https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbup.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="thumbup.gif" />, now I have another ink on my list. (I just love blue-black inks with some green to it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/puddle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":puddle:" border="0" alt="puddle.gif" /> )

if this ink is indeed out of stock at this point, i'd like to be one of the outspoken few to say i'd like to see a reissue.

For those who really like this ink, I too hope that it may soon be in stock again.

I myself don't have this ink and I won't buy it either because it reminds me too much of the Legal Lapis (which I do have). They may indeed be two different inks but their looks are too similar for me. I was disappointed when I first tried out the Legal Lapis. I thought that the term 'Legal' would in fact convince us that we're having to do with a respectable, establishment-solid, lawyer. Sort of like that which MB's or Lamy's or Diamine's iron-gall inks reflect. IMO -- especially in regard to its naming -- this ink is too green, too gray, too dull. But, to each, his own.

Have you or has anyone else any experience of using R & K Salix iron gall?

Salix:

Colour: light to middling grayish blue

Saturation: average = normal

Flow: nice, not too low, but not too high, more constant/continuous than LL

Feathering: none seen (F nib)

Bleeding: none seen, maybe a hint if I look hard enough

Shading: yes some

Just got two bottles of PotC from Niche Pens, so I am all stocked-up...

I do not want to think that I got the last two bottles of it!

They will re-stock it soon, I guess!

i think niche pens has been having '2 bottles' listed as their stock since forever. Anywhow I took the plunge last week and ordered it from them and I am now a happy owner of the ink. It's an amazing one...blue green hue ( i think it's slightly greener) with a bit of turquoise (with barrel staining) I think it's a very think ink, as in it seems to penetrate the pages of my Rhodia webbie which has never happened with other inks before (the only other Noodlers I have is Aircorp blue black, which is actually more green black...but that's a tale for another day)

I like the P o t C a lot and it's great stuff as long as I choose the paper carefully. You are quite right about the Air corps too - another of my Noodler's favourites. That's far more well behaved though.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
