Some strnage Visconti Van Gogh colors

simp

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Yesterday I was in Casa della Stilografica (www.stilografica.it) and thay showed me some strange Visconti Van Gogh colors. I took this picture:

(sorry I'm quite bad in digital photography, so it's not so clear)

I'm not so expert in modern fountain pen, so there is someone that know more about these colors and the standard Van Gogh colors?

Regards

Simone

I remember hearing that they were introducing eight new colors, so that might be those? I'm really loving the third and fifth from the right! Now if only I could find some myself.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm with you on the 3rd and 5th.

There've been other, limited edition colors, for stores like Swisher's. So I'm not surprised to see alternate colors.

The ones I've seen so far are:

musk green

ocean blue

sandal red

tortoise shell

vanilla

black

solid yellow [i think it was exclusive for that Miami seller?]

pastel green [swisher's]

I'm sure others will be happy to fill me in on colors I've missed.

I think this is a better color correction.

Very interesting! I wonder whether they will be keeping the old colours, or discontinuing them.

My all time favourite Van Gogh is the Swisher special puke pastel green.

If they're going to make them with steel nibs, it'll be a moot point for me. :crybaby:

ohhh, those are nice, i like them all, but i decided that my first van gogh will be a verde green maxi with a broad nib!

edit to add, ive been looking around for one of the verde green and have found a few. the one i am getting was in the 20's for the number out of the 188

Well, you'll probably have to get the pen and nib separately because the stub was added after the Verde ceased being made. (It was a special run for Swisher, mostly.)

I too am a fan of the 3rd and 5th from right. I've only had steel nibs on my Viscontis so I guess I won't know the difference if they switch to steel nibs for all their pens.

What is the name of the colors 3rd and 5th from the left? It looks pretty different from the Ocean Blue color.

Thanks.

I don't know that any of us know any of the new color names. The leftmost 5 are gold trim, though.

The blue and teal pair is nice, isn't it? I've been eyeing them myself.

They'll be available soon.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
