Hi,

I am thinking seriously to buy this pen on eBay but it does not specify whether the nib is Medium, Fine, etc.

I already sent a PM to the seller but no reply so far.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Luci! I'm not really sure how I could help... I can't tell you what the nib would be, and if the seller doesn't respond, try checking out their return policy and their ranking. If they're very experienced, then the could (maybe) be more helpful if the pen isn't as it should be... if you can see the image, perhaps you could see if the nib was wide/fine? If it's an auction, maybe hold off till a response, or send the question again? If it's a buy it now, if you know you could recover the money if you sold it back on ebay, then there might not be as much to lose.

Hope this works out for you!

Berner

I'll take an Aurora, please. Aurora black.

Thanks a lot for you suggestions, Berner.

I think I forgot to put the eBay link for this item. It's here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250414534928

From the pictures it is hard to tell what size the nib is.

Well, the seller seems to be a pretty good one with lots of positive feedback, I will probably wait a bit for the reply..

The seller is offering all sizes of Fine, Extra Fine, Medium or Broad Nib. Look under the item name at the top of the screen as it appears that you can nominate the size. If you were to select the buy now option and include a request for size then this could all be done prior to any money exchange Edited by JAPeN

Thanks everyone.

The seller contacted me by email confirming that the nib is Medium and piston fill.

I paid for it and am very anxious to see the item arrive on my porch to establish a new and, hopefully, longtime relationship with Omas :)

I guess my long-waited relationship with Omas is not going to happen very soon, the seller sent the item via USPS Parcel Post which 'should take 2-9 days' and charged me 12 bucks for shipping.

I guess 'SHOULD' does not neccesarily mean 'WOULD', Parcel Post is notoriously slow sometimes and it may take weeks.

It is already 5 days after it was shipped. I just hope that it is not lost or something.

Are you not located in the US? I bought form this same seller an OMAS Paragon and received it within about 3 business days (I'm in Arizona), and the shipping was free. The pen was brand new but the nib was misaligned, took me a few tries to get the tines aligned and now it writes beautifully. Very happy with it.

I had previously bought a Paragon from the same seller before who sent the pen to me via US priority mail with tracking#. Shipping took approximately 6 days. I want to also add that the package came to me nicely done. Don't think you need to worry excessively  In fact I am contemplating whether to get another Omas 360 from the same seller.

Since there was another reply... I have also ordered from this person, and the pen came quickly enough and securely. She had shipped with Priority Mail. I was happy with her as a seller- the first one I received had a funky nib, and she took it back and sent me a new one, all without hassle. :)

  • 4 months later...

I bought a Milord from the same seller. It was advertised for $240 but my $200 offer was accepted. Shipping took appx one week to Martinique via France. Tracking number was provided on the Paypal website. The pen is superb and writes beautifully straight out of the box. However, no warranty card was included, but I assume that's a very acceptable drawback for such a bargain (and anyway, from what I've read, I'm not prepared, should I need, to deal with Omas after-sale).

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
