I took a few shots showing the OMAS Paragon against a few common pens to show the relative size. I will add one with an older Omas Paragon as well when I get some time. The Omas Paragon is an outstanding pen by the way!

It looks like there have been a lot of changes in the Paragon since I got mine, including making it bigger.

This is a really good comparison. The new paragon for me is too big and metal section slippery. Having said that, I think a good alternative is the smaller milord size that appears to have a plastic section (have not checked it out yet AFA construction). If you have the hands for it the paragon is a nice pen with the added plus of being a piston filler. Thanks.

Yup, the newer Milord is a plastic section.

I had the opportunity to compare both the Milord and Paragon versions in celluloid. the Milord had a cheap feel and sound when screwing the cap on that the Paragon did not.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning.
