In your opinion, what is the most "attractive looking" Pelikan?

Simply from design POV.

A quick vote for the Pelikan Technixx -- for the more modern look. But, the old classic, love the green marbled M400.

Enjoy,

Yours,

From a person's actions, we may infer attitudes, beliefs, --- and values. We do not know these characteristics outright. The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

I've always liked the rounded, 50s look of the 400nn. There is nothing functionally wrong with the 400 or 400n, but the 400nn looks friendlier and more approachable.

I find the M800 Demonstrator most attractive especially with the intricate markings

For me its the pelikan kirin. I really like the standard toledo but the kirins color and finish is just awsome.

If you're including limited and special editions, I'd have to say the Polar Lights. Ironically, I thought it looked bad online and in pictures but found it stunning in person. The opposite was true of the Shanghai - thought it looked great online but wasn't so impressed when I saw it in person.

I'd have to say the Lighthouse of Alexandria LE. My ultimate grail pen.

I don't know if I ever told anyone but I am a Huge fan of Pelikan fountain pens, new or vintage. Though the limited editions can be hit or miss with me, with some real standouts, I find I still prefer the standard Pelikan. I keep one each of the M800 in red, green, blue and simple black cocked and loaded at all times, each with a different nib and personality. My main pen is the black, simple and classic, it feels good and it looks good.

Two favorites, the M200 Yellow cream or Citroenpers, whatever you call it, and the M400 White tortoise. The grail however remains the M1000 brown.

Happy Easter,

Eeek. I really respect my M200 and M800, but I don't see them as anything "attractive". What I love about them is that they are designed first to function well, then they are made to look "nice-ish"... This is actually a complement, but I'm having a hard time phrasing it, after making a "fiery" post in the chatter section (oh boy).

If I had to choose... maybe that "granite" M600 that came out a while back? I think it was one of the City series.

I'll take an Aurora, please. Aurora black.

I think the most addractive looking Pelikan is the M620 Athens from the Cities Series.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
