Nichepens on eBay -- Great seller

I have purchased two Pelikan pens from nichepens on eBay. Each transaction was flawless. In fact, the seller (Ray Adams) goes above and beyond what most eBay sellers do. For instance, I have asked him to test one of the nibs (an EF) before shipping and he was more than happy to do so. He is also an authorized Pelikan dealer, so my pens arrive with a signed and dated warranty on the back of the Pelikan booklet.

Just as good: since we are not members of the EU, you should ask for a rebate of the VAT. When you do this, and given the current exchange rates, the prices are better than you get with domestic sellers, even after adding the £10.00 shipping (Royal Mail and very efficient).

I have no affiliation with this seller. I'm just happy about my purchases and wanted to pass on the good word.

Yes, I also had a great experience with them (but direct from their website, not via eBay). I originally bought a M200 with an upgraded 250 medium nib, but wasn't entirely happy with it, so they let me try four other nibs, in two different consignments, till I found the right one for me. Then traded it with an leather pen case and bottle of Noodlers ink to make up the difference (I eventually chose a cheaper nib).

Not that I'm really that difficult, but they were just a joy to deal with ....

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Here another happy Nichepens buyer. They ship super fast against very acceptable rates. Would recommend them as well. No affiliation.

My M800 Demonstrator arrived direct from Niche Pens (pelikanpens.co.uk) this morning.

Free bottle of ink, lovely covering letter.

Ray, the owner of pelikanpens.co.uk, is so obliging that I ordered a second M800 Demo for my partner.

I am not affiliated in any way - I'd never heard of the firm until I read a brief mention on FPN yesterday.

I'd like to tag along and say that I'm also a very satisfied customer of NichePens (not used them via eBay, but directly through their website). On 3 separate occasions, they were very helpful and efficient with my orders. They also made sure I was kept up to date with excellent communication via email. I would not hesitate to use them again in future.

Interesting. The only good dealer I've come across in the UK was the Writing Desk - but I've not bought Pelikans from them - just had excellent service when buying other pens and been impressed by their helpfulness when I met them at the London Pen Show.

When I was buying modern Pelikans, I used to buy from Scription in Germany. My German is pretty basic, but the owner's wife was English, so we muddled through. They were close to Pelikan and would get all sorts of interesting stuff, but the website has been inactive for some time....

When I next fancy a new Pelikan (or more likely a new nib to rotate into my existing Pelikans), I'll try Nichepens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
