FPN Dumas Tulipe Noire - 3 oz. bottle
A black tulipe, or Tulipe Noire, doesn't really exist. The colour of a black tulip really is a very dark purple, with hints of black or dark grey, just like this amazing ink, the second ink on the list of inks produced exclusively by Noodlers Ink Co. for the Fountain Pen Network.
Alexandre Dumas, the famous French writer, dedicated a book to the black tulip, published in 1850, which is quite a thriller and romance around the competition to grow a black tulip, set in a period of turmoil in the Netherlands in 1672. We honour the book and writer with this ink.
This ink has a very nice vintage feel to it, due to its greyish undertones, and very good shading characteristics, from quite light dull purple, to almost black purple. Lubrication characteristics are also very good. On cheap paper it may feather a bit. A fantastic ink, with a very unique colour!
