I am wanting to purchase an antique Pelikan pen for a friend and do not want to get involved in an acution. I know nothing about collecting pens. Where could I go to find a place to purchase. I'm looking in the $250 range. Any help would be appreciated.

Alternatively, there is Daniele Teppa, in Italy, who posts Pelikans for sale here in the Marketplace on a regular basis, but whom you can contact here as well: Pen and Pencil. Also check out her Pelikans. If you want to buy from her and want to know what is available, just email her.

Also look over at Pendemonium they sometimes have some vintage pelikans, and they are always in great condition.

David Nishimura has a Pelikan 100 here for $265 plus shipping. It has an engraved name, and being a wartime model has a CN nib rather than a gold one. That said, it is tough to find a very high quality Pelikan 100 at this price point without getting lucky on Ebay, and I can certainly recommend David's site vintagepens.com. I bought a Pelikan 100N from that same page on Thursday. It arrived today in as-described condition - wonderful pen, fully restored.
