Today I played hookey and haunted the pen hospital in NYC because they are presenting their pen show today and tomorrow. I was there for hours and had a great time, finally deciding, after much delighted indecision, to add to my present collection. I purchased a Namiki Falcon because it was lightweight and had a wonderful nib that I am sure I will enjoy drawing with. I also purchased two Krone pens and realized when I got home that I did not know, nor can I locate the names of these pens either on the receipt or on any site online. They both came in large impressive boxes but had no literature included and no bottles of ink (I looked on ebay and saw similar boxes with ink included). They are grey, white and black - mottled in effect and have sterling silver small clips as well as a sterling silver band. The nib on the fountain pen is 18kt. gold (white and yellow). The band on the fountain pen has two enamelled areas of color: yellow and purple. The rollerball has black and red enamel on the band. The barrel of the fountain pen is engraved with the word Krone and under it the word Choice. The fountain pen fills via a piston button under a screw off cap on top of the pen. The barrel of the rollerball is engraved with the word Krone and under it the word Chance. If anyone knows anything about these pens, please respond!

Today I called the Pen hospital and asked which collection the Krone pens belonged to. The answer: Paradox. So, there you have it. I have located this "type" online but have not seen any with the silver bands and enamelled portions.

Hi Playpen,
Though many Krone pens are too flashy for me, others look very nice. The Paradox is one of those models that I would love to have.
This is the
link to the Krone page showing these pens.
Congratulations, and enjoy your new pens!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am thrilled to own them. The site is wonderful that you provided in the link but the pen has a slightly different silver band. The bands on mine have colored enamel panels. I have not yet filled the fountain pen. It has a piston type filler. I am actually afraid I will do something wrong and decorate myself and the walls LOL. Any advice?
