I'm liking the Cross rb better than Parker gel.
The Cross is smooth but has a little more feedback that i prefer,
the gel is too wide (can't find fine gels) for my writing, and
the ink mileage of the Cross is much better
than the gel. I recommend the Cross rb.
Cross makes excellent fps too.
One of my favorite brands.

Do the cross rb refills fit anything other than cross pens? I've never been knocked out by the cross bodies, in particular...

No, but Jeen needs to be referred to Mrs P's wart removal clinical trial.
We could run a side study on aversion therapy, we can cure him of this fixation on Gels and Rollerballs.
He is nearly there as he still recognises that Cross makes FPs, so all is not lost.
By the way Jeen, what are you doing that needs a fine RB, that is what fine nibs on Parker "51"s are made for man. Come on get with the programme

As a last resort (duplicate forms), I use a BP with Parker Gels. If you can't write with a FP, it's the next best thing.
Father-in-law just gave me Porsche designed Faber Castle BP pen. When I heard porsche pen, I thought, "tacky!". But it's actually a very nice pen.
Just to be crystal... my first pref will always be a nice FP (like this great little parker "51" in cedar blue I just received last night!).

Jeen,
Which Cross RB pen are you using?

Hey Jim,
I use the rb and gels for those triplicate forms that require heavy pressure
and little room to write anything.
And when things get hectic, they are relatively carefree, and I don't have to
mind what might happen to a nib.
By the way, I have 5 Cross fountains, and they are beautiful writers and
have never had a problem.
Tmann,
I'm using my old Century sterling silver rb.
I also have a green lacquer Townsend with both
a nib and a rollerball section.

I too have a couple of Cross rollerball bodies (I think they were called Selectip) and would love to know what other refils might fit them - I found the fibre tips wore out quickly and the roller balls skip after a short time (I even had the ball drop out once!).
The highlighter refils are fine as are the giant ballpoint refils, but I'd like some other options - gel for preference.
Just for when the FP is not to hand... honest...
Chris
