rolleyes.gif I finally decided to get one of the new CS Dandys after I learned that this pen is being discontinued to make room for new models along with the 58 and the Dinkies. It's not that I needed the pen as I have a modern 58,an Aurora Ipsilon Deluxe,a Waterman Charleston and a vintage Parker 75 I've owned since about 1965 in daily rotation. I just like CS and I like pens with a classic look. I love English cars also so you know I may be a little touched....Oh well. Any way I bought the pen from Richard with an extra fine nib in claret and the pen is stunning. The color is really beautiful, the nib writes like butter with a nice wet line, and the fit and finish are excellent. This my first lever fill since an original Shaeffer Balance and on original Parker Duofold, that an ex wife got off with, that I've owned. I wish I could put in a picture of it but if you go to the CS site and look at Dandys and then look at the 100's to see the color you'll get the idea.I felt a little guilty buying it, but after getting it, I don't anymore!!

When's it being discontinued? With your comment about liking English cars and buying the pen from Richard (Binder?), I presume you're in the States. Is the Dandy being discontinued in the UK as well? If I were to buy a new CS I'd want to get a Dandy.

If you like CS pens and the classic look, why don't you try the real thing - vintage CS Dandys - twice the fun at half the price!

Having said that, I do have a couple of modern Dandys, still mint and boxed, one in 'azure' (the modern equivalent of the vintage peacock colouring) and a Queen's Jubilee 18 carat overlay. Mind you, both would now go to fund the vintage pens, given a sensible offer!!

rolleyes.gif My understanding is that all three pens are being phased out as of the end of March. I first learned of this from Andy's Pens in the UK and Richard Binder confirmed it. Yes I'm in the states but I've been to your beautiful country and would like to visit again only for an extended stay this time.

3 Lines are being close out or until exhisting stock are sold out: Dinkie, Dandy and 58.
