Hi.... New to this group and to pen collecting. My wife and I both have the pen bug and our kids think we are nuts, but we enjoy the heck out of writing with our pens and the looks on others' faces when they see us using themat work, etc. One day my wife said she'd like an Esterbrook so I bought three (it's really great to get online and buy something without having to catch alot of grief over it because she's as consummed as I.)
The three pens I have are all "J's". I have one three-ribbed jewel Trasition, a J, and LJ. All three fill and write well. I want to know alittle more about dates of manufacture of the models J and LJ. I have researched some and have been able to find out when production of these pens started but I don't know when it ceased. If someone can fill me in I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Here's a good source from one of the FPN's own:

Beat me to it. There is very little about Estes that is not on that site.

That's a very good site and much of what I know of these pens I learned while studying that site. I just wanted to know more. Thanks for the input.
