Does anyone here replace jewels on 51's, or know who does?

I assume you mean a cap jewel Johnny?

If so they will unscrew, use a soft rubber eraser to get a grip on it or my preferred tool is a piece of Blu-Tac hardened in the fridge for an hour and then shaped to fit the end of the jewel.

If you find it won't come out, could be somebody sealed it in, so dipping the end in very hot, just off boiling water usually softens the seal.

The last replacement jewels I got were from Ariel Kullock, on eBay, but many people sell them. If you want to really splash out, then Ralph Prather makes aluminium ones, his email is prather@la-tierra.com

Hope this helps.

More info on Richard Binders site too.......
