For months i've been promising to clean my apartment so i can shoot my pen case. Finally did it. I'm also posting intermittently as my wireless connection is acting up at home. Happily, i can wander my building and tap about 50 other networks.
This case is vintage... probably antique. It is a Hamilton's Printer's Cabinet, designed to hold font type. Dates, i guess, to 1880's-1920's or so. I don't insist. I yanked the dividers that held the thousands of pieces and lined it with Gary liners. Indeed, the neat modern case Bernie once showed here seems so similar to the Hamilton cases, one can but wonder if his cabinet maker had seen the things before.
These tend to be dirty, and if one wants a clean one hunting one of the Hamilton's library map cases (no ink in those) is a usually modestly more expensive option.
Anyway, this case is BIG How BIG is it? Well, look below Mite need to scroll.
More pics tomorrow.
