Full Version: My First Esterbrook

This is my first Esterbrook. I am not completely sure about which model it is, but it is small (4.75", Orange, rounded black jewels at both ends and thin). Has a very generic 9668 General Writing nib.

Photos with the half used bottle of Fahrney's Orange (PR Orange Crush) that KCat sold to me at a very deep discount. (Thanks KCat) The color goes very well with the pen.

I am satisfied that I paid around $17 for a fully functional, almost new pen, including shipping. Someone must have replaced the sac, but it works perfectly.

I love the feel of the pen in my hand and the simple elegance that Esterbrook managed to accomplish in an economical pen. If it wasn't because of the unbalanced prices I am seing on ebay nowdays I would love to buy tens of these and their interchangeable nibs.

Some amateurish pictures below.

Very nice looking Copper! You found a good deal. And nice pictures too.

I think "simple elegance" is the perfect descriptor for the Esterbrooks. And the utility and versatility of the nibs is icing on the cake. Enjoy. biggrin.gif

That very same colored SJ is sitting in my shirt pocket. It's a great little pen. A little small for my hand (I have a copper estie J on the way to me), but I really like the Esterbrooks.

$17 with a new sac was a pretty good deal for it. Enjoy!

btw...that's a pretty nice looking ink color too. smile.gif

Beautiful photos!

I have a copper Erterbrook (same model, I think), too; I find it to be a wonderful sturdy pen, and will get more eventually.

Congrats on getting a great pen. Esties are tough to beat. Nice job matching pen and ink, btw. ENJOY!!!
