I took these photos last November at the Bexley plant in Columbus, OH. A couple of folks asked that I post them, so I'm starting a new thread rather than mix them in with the photos of my Bexley pens.

The Bexley Plant

Howard working on the (then) new Armed Services Collection pens

Jim assembling nibs and feeds

Ilya aseembling pens

So, that's where they come from, folks.

Thanks very much!

By the way, what was in your pocket?

I had heard that Bexley has more of a home-made approach to doing things. Part of the allure of the Bexley Sheherazade I purchased was the fact that most people that would see my pen would have no idea of the company. Every one knows a Rolex or a Louis Vitton bag and I wonder sometimes when I see them if they are fake or not. I know these products are well made and rugged and durable and desirable for a reason, but Id rather have a Patek Phillippe. Robbers might pass it up but the cognesceti would know. Besides, I read that Rolex makes over 200,000 watches a year and Patek not even a tenth of that figure.

Maybe, in another thread, or if there is some prior post, Dennis or someone else could explain which pens are mass or machine produced and which ones are more of a craftsman model.

IIRC, there were two Bexleys, a Black/Cracked Ice Prometheus, and one of the first Parkville Pen LE Submariner Grandes. Oh, and the Orange pen is a Waterman 53 RHR Cardinal.

Didn't think I'd go there without a Bexley in my pocket, did you?

Actually, Rolex makes closer to 800,000 watches per year. And I'd rather have a Patek Philippe too, but they cost ALOT more.

Thanks for the Bexley folks pix. It makes me more interested in their pens.
