Is there are trick to removing the front shell on a Parker "51"? I have tried to unscrew all 3 of the fronts of the pens I own, and they don't unscrew.

Thanks,

Why did you try to unscrew the shells? If you're not repairing the pens, there's no need to disassemble them, and Parker saw to it by sealing the shell with shellac that J. Random User wouldn't take his "51" apart. An appropriate application of heat should enable you to remove the shell unless it's frozen with ink, in which case you'll need to run the business end of the pen (not the filler) through an ultrasonic cleaner first.

I guess their really is no reason to remove it. I have just seen pics with the shell removed and tried on mine and they wouldn't budge. Now that I know they are sealed I will not try to remove them.

Thanks Richard, I appreciate the info.
