Hello,
I'm trying to select the best "irish green" ink for our weekend party programme. I looked a the Private Reserve Spearmint and it looks nice n very green. Please let me know if you have other recommendations, especially in the Private Reserve and Noodler's selections.

Thanks!

I like Noodlers Gruene Cactus - nice, bright green, but does dry a bit on the slow side for me as a lefty.

Noodler's Marine. Perfect.

If you can find a bottle of the Old Sheaffer Emerald - it's perfect.

Private Reserve Sherwood Green makes a nice St Patrick's Day ink.

I agree completely! If you're not a lefty, Noodler's Gruene Cactus is just the color I think of for St. Patrick's Day green. It's a bright Kelly green. smile.gif

I second that Apollo!! I inked up 3 pens with green inks for the month of March: Sherwood, Verdun and Conway Stewart Green.

If I had the Gruene Cactus, I would have found a pen for that too wink.gif

Mix Waterman Green 5:1 with PR Buttercup. Brilliant Kelly Green with not a trace of blue cast.

Levenger Gemstone Green

PR's Sherwood is lurvely for St. Patty's Day or Noodler's Marine Green if you want something that's a bit more waterproof.

Noodler's Forrest Green in my lil' Green Stripe Tucky. smile.gif

Another vote for PR Sherwood Green. I just sent my youngest son a letter written with it (well, Bexley Harmony Green). It was the closest of any of the few (4) greens I have.

Does anyone have a writing sample of the Gruene Cactus?

What I've seen in terms of swabs looks impressive - apparently dark enough to write with but with enough of the vibrancy of JH Vert Pré and Diamine Jade Green. I love the Vert Pré but it's too pale for serious note-taking, etc.

I'm hoping The Writing Desk will extend their range of Noodlers inks to include this. (I'm quite keen to try Shah's Rose and Purple Martin as well...) Please?? smile.gif

Wow, the cactus looks pretty! Very similiar to Jade Green I think.

Have you tried the Jade Green? I've only seen swab samples online, but it looked much lighter to me - closer to the JH Vert Pré. Maybe I should think about getting it, if it is actually much darker and closer to Cactus.

Yes, I actually own Jade Green. The swab sample on www.thewritingdesk.co.uk is much lighter than how it actually looks. I only tried the color out in a Parker 21 F nib though, and it seems to look like a only a slightly lighter cactus color. I did a review of this color somewhere.
