I like PR Lake Placid blue and currently use it in my Parker 51 aero.
Currently I am into Diamine inks, and trying to control my urges! I was wondering if anyone can tell me which colour in the Diamine range is similar to colour to PR Lake Placid - I find swabs on my LCD screen too inconsistent to help this decision.

If yu can find it, I would recommend the limited release of Diamine Tropical Blue. It is a wonderful color similar to a South Seas Blue but a bit different.

I'd suggest you also look at Diamine royal blue, which, despite its name, has no violet in it.

Hello Guy,
You should find something that suits your needs
here
. Lake Placid Blue is quite light in shade so Diamine Royal Blue or Lamy Blue could be suitable alternatives.
BTW, Diamine didn't sell their Tropical Blue in the UK.

Yet another alternative to PR Lake Placid Blue is Namiki Blue. It's very similar in colour to PR Lake Placid Blue.

Okay, thanks for that... I have gone for Diamine Royal Blue - seeing as the factory is just down the road from where I live.
Busy moving house at the moment, so promised myself that I will ink my "new" Esterbrook pearl-grey J pen when it arrives next week. If my wife see's me "playing" with my pens before I've moved the sofa I will be in trouble.
I will let you all know my verdict next week.
PS. whilst I was at Diamine I also purchased some Violet ink to try (see my other topic about purple ink)

It's not a large place, and I just simply phone up and warn them I am on my way. They leave the bottles in the admin office and I pay cash. Good for me as I drive past it on my way home from work.
