I bought a bottle of this stuff a couple of weeks ago and have been using it for all sorts of stuff... signing paintings and cards, writing notes to the milkman, a snail mail or two. But I decided I'd at least try to be a little objective aboutit. I mean, I know I like the colour because it's not too vibrant, it's sort of cool, restrained and tasteful. All the things I aspire to be but fail at miserably rolleyes.gif

My main concern is how lightfast ink is and how waterproof. First off, it's not too good on the waterproof front - a few sprinkles of water and the milkman has know idea how much extra milk I want. But lightfast? Wow cool.gif I wrote a sample and left it on a window ledge for an entire week in the sunlight. Today I penned another sample and compared them. Almost identical - near as makes no difference anyway.

I'll continue with this and compare the results at monthly intervals. So far, so good though. Pelikan violet gets my vote for looking good but just like them Gremlins, do NOT get it wet biggrin.gif

Thanks for your thoughts on this ink. I went to my local pen store, Bertram's Inkwell in Baltimore, today to pick up Waterman Florida Blue and Purple so I could try the 1:1 mix Richard Binder uses. The store had no Florida Blue in stock, so I walked out with Pelikan Blue and Pelikan Violet, two inks I've never used before. I'm going to try a mix later tonight after the kids are asleep.

Ahhh! I guess you don't want to be seen messing about with stuff you don't want them to try... laugh.gif

Peachez,

You couldn't scan a sample or so, and post it here, could you? Or even photograph it? We would all like to see how you are not... biggrin.gif laugh.gif

Hi,

I use too much Pelikan violet. I just got the bottle a month or two ago, and I need to buy a new bottle, and mind you! it was the 62.5 ML bottle. <_<

Anyway, it is one of my top two inks--shall we say Pelikan Turquoise and Pelikan Violet.
