I was given a Rotring 600 a while back and it came with an extra 6 Rotring Ink cartridges. The were in a Rotring box but I don't think Rotring makes ink. I was wondering who makes that ink?

Gatorade, deja vu! I asked exactly the same question in exactly the same circumstances a few months ago laugh.gif See here ...

But to cut to the chase, it seems that Rotring do make (or at least sell) their own ink, but no longer in bottled form. You can still get the cartridges though. I got mine from a UK supplier, so the link probably isn't much use to you. But if you can't find any in the US, let me know and I'll look out the link.

I think Levenger sells the cartridges, I think I remember seeing it there. Like you I was trying to get it by the bottle but would settle for the cartridges. Great suggestions on that thread! That was a couple weeks before I came to FPN. Thanks for the reply!

I suppose you can find them "around". I was in a local art supply store last month and they had a few forlorn boxes of Rotring cartidges along with Sheaffer cartridges--and not much else. Also if a store carries Parker and Waterman products they may be able to get some as they are all owned by Sanford. Which leads me to wonder if it is really Parker or Waterman ink.

Just saw that Swisher sells it too!.

I think Rotring ink probably was their own -- or at least, not the same as Parker or Waterman. The Brillant Red and Ultramarine in bottles were quite distinctive.

Presumably now being discontinued because Sanford doesn't want all those brands of ink. sad.gif
