I have but one new CS so that's my favourite(!) but I have a few olduns.
Of these I would choose an old BCHR Scribe No.330. It was (yet another) cheapie from Eb*y but is in good, worn condition.
The lever is silver coloured, I assume nickel plated, and the clip probably started off the same but is now polished brass. The 'engine turning' is a wavy series of tiny lines and is a little feint on the body. The inscription is clear but worn in the middle and corresponds to version #1 on Jonathan's site with
'Conway Stewart London' written in a scribey sort of way. With the cap screwed in the posted position it is elegant (though neither shiny nor ostentatious) and perfectly balanced.
The nib is a 3B (the number only visible if you take the nib out) and is a little assymetric (or is it the feed?) but writes perfectly. The previous user must have held the pen at a similar angle to me because, though worn, it glides over paper leaving that nice, wet, even trail which is so satisfying. It has a softish flex which adds character to writing without becoming tricky to use and slowing the process.
With pens like this I sometimes wish I only had one so I would use it all the time.
It deserves it.
Of the CS pens I don't own my favourite would be an early mottled hard rubber Duro, perhaps a No.2, with a large lollipop flanged lever.
