Hello All,

Another teaser for you.

First correctly identify all 7 pens in the picture.

I'll give you one clue. Pens 1-3,6 have duro nibs.

Next, who were the two founders of the original Conway Stewart company ?.

The first correct entry gets the prize.

The prize is pen 7 in the pic. A Green marbled # wink.gif

Please note that the prize comes from my collection and I pay for the postage as well. Why ?. Because I love old CS's and want to introduce more FP lovers to them.

Good luck and let the game commence.

Here be my ideas, now really must do some work

1. 45

3. 55
4. 1203
5. 286
6. Duro 2
7. 75

Founders - Frank Jarvis and Tommy Garner

Good Luck everyone.... since I won the last one, I am staying out of this one as a contestant... I might email Gary my guess to see how close I come, IF I can ever find the danged website I used the first time... wallbash.gif wallbash.gif wallbash.gif
Greg
Right.

1 - No. 45 (althought the band looks to be proud, but the 286 doesn't have a Duro nib)
2 - No. 217 (few options with such a wide band and no Duro nib)
3 - No. 55
4 - No. 817 (ink visible, but not with cap on and no Duro nib)
5 - No. 759 (due to the low position of the lever)
6 - No. 2 Duro Pen (one of my favourite photos!)
7 - No. 85

Can I reserve items 2 and 4 to be swappable as the differences are very small? I went with 217 for item 2 because of the peak thickness, from what I could see.

Hey thanks Mary, good to see you in the spirit of things, I'm sure the winner will love a bottle of ink. So would I for that matter. laugh.gif

Greg, you can have another go if you like.

Gary
Greg
Thanks, Gary, from that I presume I'm close.

I'll therefore to the 2 and 4 swap:

1 - No. 45
2 - No. 817
3 - No. 55
4 - No. 217
5 - No. 759
6 - No. 2 Duro Pen
7 - No. 85

I'm pretty sure about the rest. The 75 has silver coloured trim, the 84 a wider band.

My only other offering would be:
3 - No. 26 Duro or there is a 3 banded version of No. 35 which is fitted with a Duro nib. I'll say its a no. 35.

A good effort Greg but not quite. Frustrating ain't it ?. laugh.gif

btw There are no tricks or catches, it is straight forward.

Keep the entries coming.

6. Duro no. 2
7. 85

So frustrating...want to know anwers...
Greg
I think I might have it now.

I misread the clue and so 2 has a Duro nib. This means its a No.47. I think the ink visible might be a bit of a trick so 4 should be a 217.

So, last try:
1 - No. 45
2 - No. 47
3 - No. 55
4 - No. 217
5 - No. 759
6 - No. 2 Duro Pen
7 - No. 85

Congratulations Greg..You are the winner..

I wondered how long it would take to guess the #47 ?. Being that I live in NZ and this pen is an Australasian only offering.

Well done. pm me your address plus send it also to Mary Burke for the ink.

Thanks All for taking part.
Greg
WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!

Fantastic, I've never won competition before!

I didn't read the clue carefully enough and thought 1,3 and 6 had Duros as opposed to 1-3 and 6.

Shakers to acj27, no doubt OldGriz had it covered from the beginning!

Thanks for the fun. If anyone wants to know anything about black CS flat tops with 1 or 3 bands, I'm now the man.
