Hey folks, I have a 1947? grey "51" vacumatic with a lustraloy cap that has some plating coming off of the clip and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a source for a replacement lustraloy cap?

The only thing I could think of would be to buy a pen on ebay (or a flea market) in bad condition and/or with ugly engraving on the barrel or some other problem, but with a good cap. Then dispose of the non-working pen and keep the cap?

I've seen many vacs on ebay with prices in the $30-60 range, but they often have a problem or are unrestored.

Not sure where you can find staright Lustraloy caps, but here are a few sites for replacement "51" caps:

I had another link on Brad Torelli, but Firefox seems to have eaten it...try and google it, he does some amazing work!
