Hello all. I have a beautiful Danitrio Raw Ebonite Densho pen that I got from Kevin (aka Winedoc). I seem to be having flow issues with this pen. I filled it with Waterman South Seas Blues, and when it writes, it is great and smooth. However, I can only seem to get 3 or 4 lines written before the flow stops wallbash.gif , even with the end cap opened to 3/32". If I open the endcap further and invert the pen 2 or 3 times, the flow returns, but only for another 3 or 4 lines. When I filled the pen, I let it sit on a gentle downward slope for several hours (ala The Noble Savage). I even soaked the nib in the ink like Tytyvyllus and Bryan have done, with no improvement. Any other things I can try? I want to get this nailed down before I ink a Raw Ebonite for my wife or my Tamenuri Urushi. Thanks a lot.

For Raw Ebonite Pens, they are bore from ebonite rods with nothing fancy on and certain debris may have got into the feed. I would try 1 part 409 and 3 part water and use the ED that came with the pen, put it agains the section and flush the heck out. Sometimes you will see specks of tiny black debris comes out. Make sure you flush the barrel side as well. The flow usually improves dramatically, if not, please email me and I'll take a look. Thanks.

Kevin,

Gave the flushing a try and saw no improvement. I have sent you an email on this. Let me know if it doesn't arrive. When I get home later tonight (after the local comedy show) I will flush my wife's Densho and try that one. I won't be able to dry it as thourghly as I normally do, but I will try it. Will also probably try the Tamenuri.

Still having issues on this. I flushed and rinsed the wife's Densho and my Tamenuri, and both failed to write well at all. Reply sent you way Kevin.

I had exactly the same problem with mine which simple flushing didn't fix. I resolved by removing the nib and feed and cleaning both seperately then used an Air Duster (for cleaning computer components) to blast air through the feed.

After this it wrote perfectly page after page. I assume there was some junk in the feed left over from manufacture...

Hope this helps

Regards

Peter
