Anyone heard of/seen/tried the CDT Disposable FP? Stumbled across this on the DWR site, wondered whether it was worth trying.

CDT Disposable Plastic Fountain Pen w/ Black Ink

For the fountain pen cognoscente with too little time or patience for messy ink refills, we present the CDT Disposable Fountain Pen (2006). Its plastic body and nib construction create just the right drag between pen and paper, enabling the user to change line thickness with just a slight rotation. Craft Design Technology (CDT) is a Japanese company that’s very much an expression of today’s global design culture. A collection of objects that were designed to enrich lives through their enhancement of the working process, every detail of the CDT line has been considered – from well-crafted production to the innovative and cohesive packaging that was conceived by Tyler Brűlé of Winkreative. Populate your desktop architecture with this complete system of workspace tools.

Pentel used to make a similar disposable fountain pen--same nib! It is more like a felt tip than a fountain pen to me. A pilot varsity is a better disposable fountain pen at least it has a metal nib. These are nice pens just to have around though--My friend had one. You can get line variations but not by more pressure on the nib but by rotating the "nib". Good pen to lend out!!

I thought I recognized that nib! I remember those old Pentels, and you're right -- it felt like a felt tip. Interesting...

I know that CDT has a long-standing relationship with Pentel. They make some of their pencils too.

For a moment I thought we were getting interesting future tech from the Corps Diplomatique Terrestrienne. The pen that defeated the Groaci expansion!
