I just purchased the Arturo Toscanini donation pen.
First impression was great, the box is very impressive as well as the medal included.
All papers present and looks of a good quality.
The pen passed the "red glow" test.
The pen passed the "pix" under the clip test.
It also says GERMANY on the ring.
BUT, there's no serial number!!! Nowhere!!
Is it normal? Does anyone own this pen and can tell me if it is normal?
All my other Mont Blanc pens (Boheme, Starwalker, 100 years) have the s.n. engraved.
It is hard to compare my pen since no good photos can be found.

Umm, how much did you pay for it, where did you get it from, and is a BP, FP, or MP?
Its odd that there isn't a serial number, as the Toscanini was made well after Serial numbers were introduced. I would be wary, but I wouldn't say conclusive. Anyone else?

I paid something around $650 USD
I got it from a store with a good reputation but not from the official Mont Blanc boutique
It is a FP, and everything else looks just great.
I am wary and that is why I'm looking for someone with this kind of pen...
Thanks for your help

Hi palmedic
I have a Toscanini and a Solti and none of them have serial number. I know I purchased mine from a regular authorized dealer store I trust. So, do not worry.
All my other MB have serial numbers, some of them bought at tte same store.
Cheers

A friend has the Karajan donation pen and it too has no serial number - maybe it's a feature of the donation pen series?

Could well be. The Bernstein has no serial number either.

Actually here is a better one of the Number... I dont know if this counts as a serial number or just a pen number...

The Donation series don't have numbers on them, except the Bach, which Bryant already showed, that has a limited edition number.
