Do you have any recommendations for 20 lb. printer paper that doesn't bleed with most fountain pen inks? For everyday printing with my laser printer, I use some Xerox printer paper that is works great with laser printers. But, sometimes I use it to print notebook pages or for general note taking and it shows some bleeding, especially with wider nibs. I have 24 lb. paper that has very good writing characgteristics, but use the less expensive 20 lb. paper unless I'm printing something that needs a higher quality paper. It's true that I can grab some of the better paper for notebook pages and put that in the printer, but when I'm only using it for some internal notes, I'd rather use 20 lb. paper that's already in the tray.

I have had good results with HP Everyday Paper.
The other thing that is important is how wet a writer your pen is. Once you get down to 80gsm/20lb paper most any wet pen will bleed through to some extent.
What pen and ink are you using?

The Boise XMP Multi-purpose 20# I bought at Costco seems to work reasonably well. They've also got 24# from Boise that is much better, but the 20# case is a much better deal: 8 650 pg reams vs 3 500 pg reams for about twice the price.

I had purchased a case of this paper when Staples was having a sale. The price was something ridiculous, like $9.99 for a case of 10 reams. It's good paper for printing, just not as good for note taking. I might try using 24 lb paper for anything I plan to write on and then compare. The advice seems to be to use a fine nib because some feathering will probably be unavoidable. I don't know what kind of paper they use in marbled composition notebooks, but that is often great for note taking.

I use this
paper regularly for printing, writing and reproduction of art work. It comes in various weights, but I generally use 24lb. It does have a slight gloss but that doesn't seem to interfere with using a Fp.

I have a ream of Xerox "Primary Image" for "laser - inkjet - copier - fax" 20 pound 84 brightness that works very well with a FP. I'm not sure if the ream I have is a fluke or normal performance. I know most of the "copier" and "laser" papers we use at work are like writing with a Sharpie when it comes to FPs. The "inkjet" designation may be the key.

I use the HP Everyday all the time. It's inexpensive and works great with all my pens except one. That one is such a wet writer it acts more like a geyser than a pen so paper testing with it is a useless effort.
