Lots of folks have noted that they have problems using fountain pens on "sticky notes." Fountain pen inks may bleed, smear, or just not work on most notes. However, I recently bought a package of Post-It ® Super Sticky Recycled Notes, and they seem to work well with most of the inks that I normally use.

You can see the test results here.
"HOD" = Heart of Darkness
"BB" = Borealis Black
"BSB" = Bay State Blue
"II/VV" = Iraqui Indigo/Violet Vote
"EI" = Ellis Island

There is some feathering with most of these inks, but I think it's minor and certainly acceptable for a sticky note. Ink dries very fast on these notes, by the way -- smearing may not be an issue for most people under most conditions. Of course, as always, YMMV.

That are a lot of color for one sticky note! but it is nice to see that HOD or Quinck do work reasonably.

I use Quill's cheap imitation Post-It notes. They seem OK with FP ink.

Thanks for the review- they just switched over to the super sticky and I've seen about the same with a fine nib. And a few rollerballs they have there as well.

Thanks for the test. I haven't seen them with recycled paper yet.
