Full Version: American Express Appointment Book - how good?

I got a mailing from AmEx advertising a free "2009 Executive Appointment Book and Pocket Organizer Set". Just pay S&H, $4.95. This puts one on the list to get it next year for full price (with the option to return). Of course if you remember to tell them you want out, you won't even get the book the next year.

All well and good, I should be able to remember to tell them to take me off their subscription list.

But how are the books? Are they cheap and nasty, or nice and fountain pen friendly? It looks good. Not worth the $43 they claim for the pair, but well worth $5 total. The larger is supposed to have lay-flat binding (Smith).

Guess no one has tried it. Think I did a similar product probably 20+ years ago with Newsweek, but wasn't using FPs then so can't even help from that.

Let us know what you learn... it's only $5 rolleyes.gif

I did use them a hundred years ago and if I recall they were very well made and FP friendly.

Similarly, I used to get them, over a decade ago (seems another lifetime,) but I don't recall how they were with fountain pens. I got the same advertisement this time, but decided to pass; it's bigger then the calendars I've been using.

Same as Zoe. Reasonably good with FP but a little larger than I liked, and the second one is very expensive. Tberry
