So I remember hearing that the next pen in the 640 series after the polar lights was going to be Mount Everest. Does any one know when it will be available? Or advance Pics?

I bet it would be a white coloured pen. The previous pens were blue, yellow and green based..

Hello
As far as I know, Pelikan plans to release the MOUNT EVEREST in December.
Have a good time!

I really love the shape too. It's
sooo comfortable in my hand that I now use my Sahara more than my M800 (which had been my everyday workhorse for some time now).
BTW (not kidding here)... I had a dream last night in which I bumped into the Everest but I now forget... it was either a white (snow) with a solid middle-to-light blue (sky) on the top... or was it the other way around?

Lapis--I keep going back and forth between my M805 and the polar lights. The Polar lights nib is very flexible BUT my m805s nib is flippable a medium flipped to an extra fine so It is being used lately for a particular type of drawing I'm doing. I don't really like white pens but i am still excited to see the Mt. everest. Maybe the prices of the Polar lights will go down when it comes out. I still think they should make an all black one for everyday. Sorry i can talk forever about this pen.

Stevlight, I sorta get the idea ( I think). The 640 (Sahara) is more comfortable as re ergo in my hand, but the M800's nib appeals better to me, even if it is only the size and smoothness. Also the slight window capability is great. Sooo-.. I'd say I use the Sahara and M800 about 60 to 40 % of the time together.

Oh, I like it - at least I like it based on that one picture... I've been waiting forever for a Pelikan that I both like and can afford.

Now that there's pictures of the fourth pen out, it looks like each pen in the 640 series is an experimentation with lines.
Consider:
1. Niagara Falls

2. Sahara

3. Polar Lights

4. Mount Everest

I no like. To repeat GeeTee here, it's so disappointing (sorry, Pelikan).
I like gold (plus/minus a colour, let's say green or blue) or any silveriness (plus/minus especially a red or yellow), but not a gold and silver mix together.
Phew

I think it's fine, but it would be better if that big blob of gold in the middle wasn't there.

I agree with Renzhe--I don't like the gold in the middle. A grey and silver pen would have rocked--too bad. My favorite is still the polar lights--I would get another Polar lights before the Mt everest! Maybe it is my obsession with black and silver--I don,t know--kinda disappointed but will still have to see it in person for a final decision.

The gold isn't solid gold (you can see it has lines through it), and it does seem to follow from the other parts of the design.
I don't normally like gold-and-silver together much either, but it seemed like they were going for the gold as seen in
this picture of Everest. Given that, I think they did an excellent job capturing it in as few colors as possible, though I'd love to see more blue.

I'm not in the market for one of these but the Everest does look quite nice to me from that photo. Having said that, my favourite is the Niagra.

From what i can see - it could be a stunner or a flop - i would like to see some more pictures showing more of the detail - certainly has potential in my book.
