After reading reviews of this shade, bouhght Waterman's South Seas Blue. And while I like the shading with my stub and flex nibs, really looking for something more on the greenish hue that also has wonderful shading. Ideas anyone??

many thanks for any input

Private Reserve Blue Suede. This ink shades in anything, but looks especially good in a wet writer that shades well.

I'm having fun with Caran D'Ache; here are the reviews for Turquoise and Caribbean Sea.
NeilB
Private Reserve Naples Blue shades rather nicely.

PR Naples Blue and Blue Suede would also be my suggestions. I use both in stubs and like the shading quite well.

+1 for PR Naples Blue. It also mixes well with other inks to add nice shading. I also mix it with various blues.

Thank you all for your input. Got samples from Pear Tree today and am playing with bouth Diamine Turquoise and Caran d'Ache Carribean Sea, Now, the question is: which to buy> Both look fantastic in my flex and italic nibs. Dunno but have the little vials to play with.

Also got some oranges from Pear tree for shading practice too.

Now that I have all the pens I need, I see I need to start collecting inks too!!

A half-serious suggestion: Sheaffer Blue-Black!

I just popped a pre-Slovenian cart of this into a M No Nonsense italic and was very surprised - it has a very turquoise base - much different than any other blue-black in my stable.

If both look good, Diamine is considerably less expensive per ml. I haven't tried the C'dA inks (except Storm) but I love the quality of Diamine inks.
Lefthander
Visconti Turquoise - it's my favorite turquoise and shades nicely.
ArPharazon
Noodler's Navajo Turquoise.

Great color, great shading.

I've yet to find a nicely shading turquoise myself.

Diamine Turquoise is fairly saturated, and doesn't shade a lot.
Pelikan Turquoise is the same stright out of the bottle. If diluted with equal parts of water you get a lighter ink and it shades a bit more (I've used this for 15 years). Don't dilute more than equal parts of water as the ink then doesn't lubricate.

Regards

Richard.

I have four turquoise inks currently on the go - Lamy, R&K Blu Mare, JH Bleu Pervenche, and Rotring. I've also previously used MB Turquoise, PR Naples Blue, and Waterman SSB. I use them in different pens with different nib widths, but I'd say that the Lamy ink gives by far the best shading.

Ya know, I was THINKING about ordering some Lamy for my two Lamy pens, so thanks for the post. Would you think the ink in the cartridges would give the same shading?? I ask this because there seems tobe some Waterman issues with SSB on another thread.

The cartridge ink is the only one that I've used. I've been using it as my main pen at work for nearly 2 years now, and it definitely provides some nice shading.

Noodler's Navajo Turquoise.

Great color, great shading.
While a great color with some wonderful shading, it's probably too blue for the OP's needs.
