I believe these will probably be the last two Montegrappa fountain pens that I would consider rehoming. These two are brilliant writers (see pictures) and are being offered here for a fraction of their MSRP, at bargain prices.

The Miya and Miya Argento lines from Montegrappa are the cartridge/converter siblings of the flagship range the Extra 1930. They come in four lovely celluloid finishes (some of the best around): red, turquoise, yellow and midnight blue. The Miya Argento is identical in shape to the Miya. It has an entirely silver cap (unscrews in one and a half turns) that has an engraved pattern on it and a slightly different grip section. The barrel gently curves outward near the middle and rests nicely in the hand. All fittings and trims on both the Miya and the Miya Argento are solid sterling silver.

The dimensions of both pens are: 134mm capped, 122mm uncapped and 155mm posted.

1) Montegrappa Miya Argento Yellow FP with semi-flex 18kt two-tone extra fine nib

I've filled this pen up twice only, once just a moment ago to test it. I had forgotten how special this extra fine nib was - it's very springy, I would consider it to be semi-flex. The pen is in near mint condition and the vibrant yellow celluloid looks stunning. I think pictures and writing examples demonstrate this pen best.

It comes with warranty card (undated), instruction booklet, converter, silver polishing cloth. I would like US$405 shipped anywhere for this pen.

2) Montegrappa Miya Red FP with 18kt two-tone fine nib SOLD

I am asking US$295 shipped anywhere for this pen - you will not find a Montegrappa celluloid pen at a lower price that writes as beautifully as this one.

Shipping is by regular airmail, insurance, registered, express all available but at cost. Paypal preferred (all flavours ok), first firm "I want it" PM takes the pen. Please PM me with any questions you may have. Thank you for looking!

Oh! I was talking about the barrel, how huge is it? And may I ask why are you selling it? wink.gif

It really looks good!

Oops, got a bit confused there smile.gif the largest part of the barrel curves out to be just a bit wider than a Pelikan M800 but otherwise it's a very comfortable pen to hold - not that huge and adapts well to most grips.

I'm selling it because I lost my job two weeks back due to company going into receivership, need to free up some cash sad.gif that's why this baby is being offered and at such a low price.

Man, I think I'm in love...... currently penniless, but in love none the less - what a beauty! smile.gif

What beautiful handwriting!

If you ever have the time or inclination, feiye, I'd love to see some reviews of your Montegrappas. They don't seem to be particularly popular on this forum and I've never really understood why, given the obvious aesthetic appeal and (on the basis of your photo) attractive nib performance. They are one of the "big" fountain pen types available in B & M stores in Australia; perhaps they are less prominent elsewhere?

/Hijack.

Please go on ogling and possibly buying the pretty pen now.

Ok, how about a price reduction to get below that psychological barrier? Price reduced to US$398 shipped anywhere. smile.gif

smile.gif It is absolutely stunning although my favourite is the turquoise Argento which is one of my daily users. It too shares the same semi-flex nib and can do some pretty impressive doodling as well.

Thank you callida! I do intend to do a review of my Miya Argento Turquoise someday, I just have to convince myself to put it down and take some photos of it first! I'm not sure why they're not so popular but I agree, in Australia they're a pretty big brand (I'm located in Sydney myself smile.gif). Most newer Montegrappas don't have the semi-flex nibs so I try to test all Montegrappas prior to purchase to find the ones with super smooth or springy nibs.
