Full Version: Ink stains on an Ariel Kullock pen

I bought a beautiful orange 51 from Ariel Kullock and realize that if I ink it, which I plan on doing, there will be staining of the somewhat translucent section, maybe the barrel. Are there any inks that would be less likely to stain? Maybe I shouldn't worry about and just accept it...

Just to share with you and hope this work for you too. Have the pen stipe and properly wax inside out. the ink will not stay on the barrel if you do that . Always clean the pen if possible that will help alot. thumbup.gif

It adds to the character ;-)

I'm happy to have my transparent one show the ink.

When I want one for display purposes (like 99.9% of my collection) then I'll put a brand new one up (cheap at the price). It's nice to see how the ink flow works in a 51. (Presume you have a vacu).

I have a green one and have the same worry. Have had it 6 months now and still no ink. Just looking and looking. Scared stiff about this.

Keep us all informed

I'm expecting a clear demo from Kullock any day now. I'm worried about the same thing. Those who've had no problems: what inks are you using?

Thanks!

Suggest using a less staining ink Waterman or Sheaffer and be quick to clean it out.
